Why did THAT get such a big reaction?
A FREE 45-minute workshop for parents and professionals supporting children who seem to go from absolutely fine to completely overwhelmed in seconds.

A simple request.
A change of plan.
Being told “not yet”.
One more instruction.
Something doesn't go quite as expected.
And suddenly they're shouting, crying, refusing, running, hiding, shutting down or simply unable to cope.
It can feel completely out of proportion to what just happened.
And leave the adults around them wondering:
Where did THAT come from?
But what if the thing that happened immediately before the reaction isn't the whole story?
That's what we're going to explore.
Behaviour doesn't always tell us where the difficulty started.
A child's brain and body can be working incredibly hard before we see an obvious sign that they're struggling.
They might even look like they're coping.
So when the big reaction finally happens, it's easy to focus on the final trigger rather than everything their nervous system was already managing.
In 0–100, I'll help you look underneath that moment.
And I'll make the neuroscience behind it simple, relatable and useful in real life.

In 45 minutes, you'll learn:
Why a big reaction can seem to come from nowhere
Understand what's happening in the brain and body when a child suddenly seems unable to cope.
What might have been happening BEFORE the behaviour
Learn what to look for beyond the obvious trigger… including demands, sensory information, changes, interactions, body needs and previous stress.
How to spot the less obvious signs of struggle
Because struggling doesn't always look like struggling. Learn to notice changes in the individual child before distress becomes obvious.
Why “they managed yesterday” doesn't always mean they can manage today
Understand why a child's capacity can change from day to day and even throughout the same day.
What to consider when the reaction happens
Explore how our response, expectations and environment can either add more pressure or help the child's nervous system begin to recover.
You'll also receive a practical 0–100 reflection tool
Something simple you can use after one of those:
“What on earth just happened?”
moments to help you look at:
What happened before?
What might their brain and body already have been managing?
Were there any earlier changes we didn't recognise at the time?
What could we change in our response next time?
Whether you're supporting a child at home, in education or through your professional role, you'll leave with something you can actually use.

✔️ seems to go from fine to overwhelmed very quickly
✔️ has reactions that feel much bigger than what just happened
✔️ manages something one day but struggles with it the next
✔️ suddenly refuses, explodes, withdraws or shuts down
✔️ struggles to explain what's wrong
✔️ appears to cope and then crashes later
✔️ regularly leaves you wondering “What am I missing?”
No diagnosis is needed.
And you don't need to understand neuroscience or nervous systems before you come.
That's my job.

I'm a Sensory & Behavioural Specialist with almost 20 years' experience supporting children, families and professionals.
Through The InnerMe Project, I help adults understand what's happening underneath behaviour by looking at the child's brain, body, nervous system and environment.
I make the science simple enough to understand and practical enough to actually use.

Hi, I'm Kate.

"Because the thing that happened at 100 might not be where the story started." 🌞💛
